Holly Robinson Loses Paralympics Javelin Title After Sixth Place In Paris

Holly Robinson loses Paralympics javelin title after sixth place in Paris

British Paralympian aims to bounce back at next year's World Championships, despite disappointment in France

Robinson, 27, finished sixth in the women's F46 javelin final at the World Para Athletics Championships in Paris on Saturday, with a best throw of 39.75 meters.

The result was a disappointment for Robinson, who won gold in the event at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio and silver at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.

Despite the setback, Robinson said she was determined to bounce back at next year's World Championships in Kobe, Japan.

"I'm disappointed with my performance today, but I'm not going to let it get me down," Robinson said.

"I'm going to use this as motivation to work harder and come back stronger next year."

Robinson's coach, Lee Doran, said he was proud of her performance, despite the result.

"Holly is a great athlete and she's still learning," Doran said.

"She's got a bright future and I'm confident she can bounce back from this."

Robinson's sixth-place finish in Paris was her second-best result of the season. She threw a season's best of 42.51 meters at the British Athletics Championships in June.

The World Para Athletics Championships will be held in Kobe, Japan from July 28 to August 6, 2023.
