One year ago, Al Roker was hospitalized for blood clots in his lungs and legs. The Today show weatherman spent two weeks in the hospital and underwent several surgeries. Roker has since made a full recovery and returned to work. In a recent interview, he spoke about his health journey and how he's doing now.
"I'm feeling great," Roker said. "I'm back to my old self. I'm eating healthy, exercising, and taking my medication. I'm so grateful to be alive and to be back with my family and friends." Roker said that the experience taught him to appreciate the little things in life. "I used to take my health for granted," he said. "But now I know that it's a precious gift. I'm so grateful for every day that I have." Roker's health scare is a reminder that anyone can be affected by blood clots. Blood clots are a serious medical condition that can lead to death. If you have any symptoms of a blood clot, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or swelling in your legs, seek medical attention immediately.
